The challenge
Beyond the reach of coastal cellular and terrestrial RF infrastructure, vessels can lose continuous communications with shore-based command systems. Unmanned sea platforms depend on reliable links for commands toward the vessel and telemetry back to shore.
- Connectivity beyond the coastal horizon for manned and unmanned vessels.
- Communications-on-the-move through vessel pitch, roll and heading changes.
- Sealing and resistance to salt fog, humidity, spray and vibration.
- Two-way operational data and voice between vessels and shore-based control infrastructure.
The HiSKY solution
A portfolio of compact Ku- and Ka-band sea SATCOM terminals connects manned and unmanned vessels over GEO satellite links. The vessel terminal closes the satellite link, and the HiSKY HUB lands it on the customer’s private network. Space Control (NMS) monitors and controls the network end to end.
- Standard IP integration with vessel C2, telemetry, operational data and voice systems.
- Deck or mast mounting for communications-on-the-move, alongside fixed sea installations.
- Terminals designed for sea sealing, salt fog, humidity, spray and continuous motion.
- Shared satellite resources for multiple vessels, with centralized network control.
What the solution enables
Unmanned vessel C2
Command transmission to the vessel and telemetry return to shore over a two-way satellite link.
Manned vessel connectivity
Operational data and voice beyond terrestrial communications coverage.
Multi-vessel networking
Shared network resources across fleets and groups of sea platforms.
Private network control
Customer-controlled connectivity through the HiSKY HUB and Space Control (NMS).
