The challenge
Long borders with limited connectivity create gaps in situational awareness and timely decision-making. Rugged terrain breaks tactical radio links between remote outposts and headquarters, while forces lose connectivity when they move or dismount.
- Rugged terrain creates radio range and line-of-sight gaps.
- Large operating areas depend on limited legacy infrastructure.
- Forces lose continuity on the move and when dismounted.
The HiSKY solution
HiSKY deployed a compact, vehicle-mountable Dynamic Ku 16×16 terminal that turns a command vehicle into a mobile communications node. A single Ku channel was reconfigured between tactical-radio relay, video and IP/Wi-Fi services. HiSKY HUB and Space Control (NMS) connect and manage the service through the customer’s private network.
- One satellite resource, reconfigured for different communications needs.
- Voice and IP continuity while moving and after personnel dismount.
- The same compact terminal supports vehicle or fixed-site use.
- Connection to fielded tactical radios without replacing the existing equipment.
What the solution enables
Connectivity
A self-contained communications bubble around the command vehicle.
IP and data
Satellite-fed Wi-Fi for messaging, voice and calls while stationary or moving.
Bandwidth
Multiple mission capabilities delivered over one reconfigurable Ku channel.
Mission outcome
Resilient command, video and voice extended to the tactical edge.
