Global Sales Director – Defense Sector
About the Role
We are seeking a Global Sales Director who can drive significant business growth and secure major orders across international defense markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the defense industry, with proven experience selling to leading defense organizations, prime contractors, defense integrators, and government defense agencies worldwide.
This role focuses on leading global sales activities for the company’s satellite communication solutions designed for military platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, and converting complex defense programs into long-term business growth.
The role requires the ability to translate complex technical, operational, and market information into a clear, disciplined sales strategy while operating in environments characterized by long sales cycles, high uncertainty, and strict regulatory and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure significant multi-million-dollar orders from international defense customers
- Lead global sales activities for satellite communication solutions integrated into military platforms (land, air, maritime, and unmanned systems)
- Develop and maintain relationships with defense ministries, military organizations, prime contractors, defense integrators, and strategic partners worldwide
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target defense markets
- Collect and analyse customer, market, competitive, and program-level intelligence to build executable sales strategies and account plans
- Manage complex, long-term sales campaigns aligned with defense procurement processes and acquisition frameworks
- Assess and manage commercial, operational, geopolitical, and program risks throughout the sales cycle
- Lead proposals, RFI/RFP responses, contract negotiations, and strategic business discussions in coordination with engineering, product, and delivery teams
- Represent the company at international defense exhibitions, conferences, customer meetings, and industry forums
- Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and executive reporting
Required Experience
5+ years of experience in international defense sales, business development, or strategic account management
Proven track record of selling to defense organizations, ministries of defense, military branches, defense integrators, or prime contractors globally
- Proven track record selling to UAV, loitering munition, and autonomous vehicle manufacturers across the global defense market – Must
Strong understanding of defense procurement processes, acquisition programs, export regulations, and compliance requirements
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain executive-level customer relationships across international markets
Experience managing complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders and long decision-making processes
Fluent English required; additional languages are an advantage
Ability to travel internationally on a frequent basis
Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance, if required
