**While wildfires may have a beneficial impact on ecological resources, their impacts are often devastating when uncontrolled.**  
In Australia alone, the 2019-2020 wildfires killed or displaced an estimated 3 billion animals and caused an estimated $100bn in overall damages. Similarly, Indonesia’s fire season led to the closure of schools affecting 5 million students, bringing the entire country to a standstill. Globally, both natural or ignited wildfires, are becoming for frequent, more dangerous, and more costly.

Governments and local firefighting services are looking for technologies and tools enabling early detection and online fire-status analysis, increasing their ability for an early response, critical for stopping a blaze from growing out of control.

The remoteness and vastness of fire-prone areas make data-driven decision-making complex.

Firefighting agencies are looking to adopt remote imaging technologies which can be key in early wildfire detection, fire-spread mapping, and modeling, thereby enabling firefighters the ability to make tactical decisions before arriving at the scene.
