# About HiSKY

## Secure connectivity, made ordinary, proven in the field

HiSKY was founded in 2015 by a team from defense and intelligence backgrounds, on one belief: critical platforms should never lose connection, and nations should never lose control of their communications. Our mission is to make satellite communications as accessible and as reliable as any other form of connectivity.

For over ten years we have designed, developed and manufactured our full satcom system in-house: terminals, hub and network management. Today our ultra-low-SWaP Ku- and Ka-band terminals connect UAVs, munitions, troops and sensors beyond line of sight over any GEO or LEO satellite. Our private, sovereign networks are trusted by defense forces and leading system integrators worldwide

HiSKY MISSION

> “To empower defense forces with **sovereign, affordable** end-to-end satellite networks across all platforms.”

Our value proposition

## Private. Invisible. In Command.

HiSKY delivers end-to-end private satellite communications for defense operators - combining the market's lowest SWaP terminals with full sovereign network control, at an affordable price. From UAVs to munitions, any platform beyond the horizon stays connected, undetected, and under command.

## Our Technology

Satellite communications for
the beyond-line-of-sight battlespace.

Today's missions extend far past the horizon - manned and unmanned platforms, and the munitions guided by them, need secure, resilient connectivity wherever they operate. HiSKY's core offering is a complete SATCOM system, not a single component: low-SWaP terminals, gateway/hub, and network management, delivered and supported as one integrated capability. Built on private, sovereign networks with LPI/LPD characteristics, operating across Ku and Ka bands, and spanning GEO, MEO, and LEO orbits, HiSKY keeps platforms and munitions connected, controlled, and undetected - however far beyond the line of sight the mission takes them.

Our Business

## End-to-end systems, built and supported as one.

HiSKY doesn't sell terminals in isolation. We design, deliver, and support the full communications system - terminal, gateway/hub, and network management - engineered to work together from day one. That end-to-end ownership lets defense customers stand up secure, sovereign networks quickly, adapt them as missions evolve, and rely on a single partner across the system's lifecycle instead of stitching together disparate vendors. In a domain where a connectivity gap can mean mission failure, that integration is the product.

Our Team

## SATCOM expertise built for defense, not adapted for it.

HiSKY's team brings together satellite communications engineers, RF and network architects, and defense-industry specialists who understand what it takes to keep a platform connected beyond line of sight under real operational conditions. From terminal design to multi-orbit network architecture, our experts build systems engineered from the ground up for small, long-range, manned and unmanned platforms and the munitions they guide - not commercial SATCOM retrofitted for the mission.

Frequently asked questions

## About HiSKY

### What is HiSKY?

HiSKY is a satellite communications company that designs, builds, and delivers end-to-end private satellite networks for beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) platforms - from UAVs and munitions to vehicles, vessels, and fixed infrastructure.

HiSKY's mission is to empower defense forces and civilian operators with sovereign, affordable, end-to-end satellite networks across every platform. The company is founded and headquartered in Israel, has more than a decade of field experience, and has delivered over 7,500 terminals worldwide.

### What does "end-to-end satcom system" mean at HiSKY?

It means HiSKY designs and builds every layer of the network itself - the terminal, the HUB (satellite gateway), and the Network Management System (NMS) - as one integrated, in-house system rather than assembling components from third-party vendors.

Because all three layers are built in-house, HiSKY controls the full value chain, which simplifies support, removes third-party "black boxes," and lets the company adapt the system quickly for a customer's specific platform or mission.

### What frequency bands and orbits does HiSKY support?

HiSKY's systems operate in both Ku and Ka bands and work across GEO, MEO, and LEO orbits, giving customers multi-orbit flexibility instead of dependence on a single satellite or constellation.

This multi-orbit capability means a HiSKY terminal can work over any compatible GEO or LEO satellite and switch between orbits for resilience - customers are not locked into one operator's coverage footprint or pricing.

### What is a private or sovereign satellite network?

A private, sovereign satellite network is one where the customer - not HiSKY or any third party - owns and controls the terminal, the gateway, and the network management system, with traffic routed only to the customer's own gateways.

This matters because it removes dependence on foreign-operated infrastructure or policy decisions outside the customer's control - a key requirement for defense forces and governments that need full ownership of their communications.

### What is LPI/LPD, and why does it matter?

LPI/LPD stands for Low Probability of Intercept and Low Probability of Detection - design characteristics that make a satellite signal difficult for an adversary to find, identify, or jam.

At HiSKY, LPI/LPD is a core design principle across the technology, not an add-on feature, achieved through techniques such as wide-range frequency spreading. This is critical for platforms operating in contested electromagnetic environments, where being detected can be as dangerous as being jammed.

### Does HiSKY's technology work without GPS?

Yes. HiSKY's terminals and network are designed to operate independently of GPS/GNSS, so communications continue functioning in environments where GPS signals are jammed, spoofed, or otherwise denied.

GPS independence is increasingly important as GNSS jamming and spoofing become more common in contested environments; HiSKY's roadmap includes further investment in GPS-independent navigation for these conditions.

### What is Ella-1?

Ella-1 is HiSKY's first LEO (low Earth orbit) satellite, launched with a payload HiSKY designed in-house, and it achieved data rates above 10Mbps on orbit.

Ella-1 also demonstrated a smooth handover between LEO and GEO satellites, proving HiSKY's multi-orbit capability in practice - not just in terminal design, but at the satellite-payload level, which most terminal-only vendors cannot do because they don't design payloads themselves.

### What are HiSKY's main use cases?

HiSKY's technology serves three main use cases: beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) munitions, border security and tactical ground operations, and commercial/civilian connectivity for fleets, energy sites, agriculture, and sea platforms.

Across all three, the same core private-network, low-SWaP, LPI/LPD architecture applies - packaged as ForceLITE for export-controlled defense use and SmartLITE for industrial/civilian deployment.

### How many terminals has HiSKY deployed, and who trusts them?

HiSKY has delivered more than 7,500 terminals worldwide and is trusted by the Israeli Ministry of Defense, along with global partners including Kratos, SES, Hughes, the European Space Agency, and the UK Space Agency.

This scale of deployment, sustained over more than a decade, is a key proof point that HiSKY's systems are field-proven and production-grade rather than early-stage technology.

### What is on HiSKY's product roadmap?

HiSKY's roadmap includes expanding its LEO satellite payload and constellation, GPS-independent navigation for contested environments, swarm management for multi-platform operations, advanced mission planning tools, and next-generation LPI/LPD capabilities.

This roadmap builds directly on the Ella-1 milestone and reflects HiSKY's strategy of owning the full technology stack - payload, terminal, and network - rather than depending on outside suppliers for any core capability.
