Tel Aviv, February 22, 2021 – hiSky, a leader of agile IoT networks, announces that the Smartellite™ IoT network Service has been nominated for Via Satellite’s 2020 Satellite Technology of the Year Award. The nominees are chosen based on innovation, benefit to the industry, and overall disruption to the satellite landscape.
hiSky has developed and provides services via an innovative satellite communication network system that enables robust, low-cost satellite services for users that are spread all over the globe. The network was fully developed by hiSky and comprises of satellite terminals, hub base stations, mobile application, IoT interfaces, application servers and a could base NMS (network management system) that enables operating hiSky network seamlessly within Ka/Ku GEO existing satellite network.
hiSky products are suited for both commercial IoT and Voice/Data. The system architecture enables a flexible business model to either provide the full service or to provide terminals and hub equipment depending on the customer requirements.
The winner of the 2020 Satellite Technology of the Year will be determined by a combination of the Via Satellite editorial team, including Editorial Director, Mark Holmes, and votes that come directly from industry. The public can vote for the Smartellite™ Satellite Network online.

Voting closes at noon ET on Wednesday, March 31st. The winner will be announced during a livestreamed awards ceremony hosted by SATELLITE 2021 on Monday, April 5.
