What is it?
A small, lightweight satellite terminal that you can take with you wherever you go.

Getting started
Simply install the hiSky app on your smartphone, tablet or other mobile device. Then, when you want to make a call, send a message or use email, switch on your Smartellite device.

With the S-IoT application, it is even easier, The Smartellite will connect to your IoT system or sensors via WiFi and will allow you to transmit and receive data from wherever your IoT sensors are located, fixed or on the move – The Smartellite will allow you to be covered.

How it works
The Smartellite will automatically locate a satellite and connect to your mobile device via WiFi.

Technically speaking

How it works The Smartellite leverages new High Throughput Satellites in the Ka-band for greater spectrum availability. As soon as it’s switched on, the device uses its built-in, electronically steered, phased array antennas to automatically locate the satellite, in a matter of milliseconds.

The built-in modem is designed for low-to-medium bit rates and fast acquisition of satellite signals. The hiSky satellite network enables operation by multiple users, and comprises easy-to-use, efficient management tools.

The Smartellite creates a satellite hotspot, communicating via Bluetooth or WiFi with the users’ mobile device, or IoT device and the fast and smooth transition between satellites in the geosphere ensures that constant voice connectivity is maintained, even on the move.

The app
The hiSky app through which the user communicates is accessed via secure login to the hiSky network. The app supports Instant Messaging (IM), allowing users to send and receive text messages and attachments.

Each contact in the user’s mobile device has a dedicated screen, where all the chat history is saved as part of the app data.

Transitioning seamlessly between satellites in the GEO and LEO constellation, voice and data connectivity are constantly maintained, even on the move.
The Smartellite dynamic includes a built-in, electronically steered, phased array antenna, which locates the satellite automatically and in a matter of milliseconds, and a built-in modem designed for low-to-medium data rates and fast acquisition of satellite signals.

When subscribers require transmission of large files then The Smartellite + would be used.
